    The Utah State Hospital is seeking a supervisor to oversee the projects and tasks of the USH technology department.

    This position is integral to the function of the Utah State Hospital and involves the coordination and management of several departments and subordinates.


    The Ideal Candidate:
    Has experience supervising others by assigning/directing work; conducting employee evaluations,staff training and development,taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective actions,making hiring/termination recommendations, able to communicate information and ideas clearly,and concisely in listens and understands information and ideas as presented able to make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts,explore alternatives,and propose quality significant experience with requirements elicitation,analysis,and have working knowledge of:

    principles,theories,and practices of computer sciencetesting software using appropriate methodology and techniquesautomated software applicationscomputer relational database softwaremultimedia applicationsprinciples,theories,and practices of computer data storage,retrieval,and/or restorationresearch methods,techniques,and/or sources of informationworking knowledge of agency and organizational programs and software systems


    Preference may be given to those with a history of employment with the Utah State Hospital Incumbents in this job supervise staff that perform all,or a part of,an organization's information analysis or data processing function.

    Incumbents typically supervise and/or perform activities which may include:

    the utilization of computer software programs to store data,retrieve stored data,analyze retrieved data,and arrange results in a format that effectively supports the organization's production activities; coordinate the use of information analysis related hardware,software,and data with the organization's employees and the public; help customers identify better ways to utilize the system's capabilities; estimate project costs; assure deadlines are met; negotiate common standards for data formats; assess needs for data analysis related hardware,software,and data; and make recommendations to management for improving and/or maintaining effective information analysis support for the organization.
