    Staff Accountant: Stevens Food Group

    Stevens Food Group is looking for a qualified Staff Accountant with 1+ years of experience in GAAP accounting positions. This role will perform various accounting, bookkeeping and financial duties including recording financial transactions, reviewing financial statements, evaluation accounting systems, calculating tax liability, and recommending accounting best practices. This position will ultimately ensure the company's finances run smoothly while creating and maintaining efficient systems and procedures.

    Job Duties

    · Maintain and record financial transactions by following GAAP protocols.

    · Ensure GAAP-compliancy in income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and Shareholder equity statements.

    · Prepare and organize financial transactions to support monthly, quarterly and yearly closings.

    · Balance and maintain accounting General Ledger within Quick Books.

    · Prepare, verify, allocate and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP standards.

    · Compile and review financial statements using analyzation of journal entries.

    · Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

    · Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when needed.

    · Audit financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws.

    · Analyze transactions and report on company financial health with internal stakeholders.

    · Perform RFP financial tasks and analysis for reoccurring and new clients.

    Core Accountability:

    · Report to CEO/President and work to improve financial processes.

    · Evaluate, design, document accounting systems continually to make them more effective and efficient.

    · Facilitate the growth and expansion of Stevens Food Group and related sister companies.

    · Attend internal SFG meetings, vendor meetings, and client meetings as deemed necessary.

    · Recognize priorities to ensure all work is completed in timely manner and deadlines are met.

    · Proactively identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations.

    Relationships:

    · Internal: CEO/President, Leadership Team, Account Executives

    · External: Clients Accounting Departments, Vendor/Distributor Accounting Departments

    Role Qualifications:

    · Knowledgeable about GAAP compliance standards to ensure transparency and consistency within their work.

    · High Level experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

    · Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred

    · High Level experience and knowledge of QuickBooks

    · Strong math skills, analytics and attention to detail are required.

    · Effective organizational and communication skills are necessary.

    · The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with the ability to hold themselves accountable for the completion of their responsibilities.
