Job summary
This is a job as a MFL tank technician. The role requires hands-on field work and technical expertise in MFL tank floor inspections.The position involves performing Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) inspections on aboveground storage tanks in accordance with applicable API,
Above all the work involves being able to accurately collect, analyze and report inspection data to support integrity and compliance programs. Responsibilities include setting up calibrating operating MFL inspection equipment verifying performance proper data collection identifying classifying sizing metal loss corrosion other anomalies documenting results assisting with reporting following procedures safety analyses site requirements participating in cleaning confined space entry turnaround activities communicating findings inspectors engineers project leads maintaining equipment ensuring readiness field deployment traveling client sites working extended hours during outages turnarounds.
The role also includes obtaining an ASNT TC-1A certification or equivalent demonstrating experience performing MFL inspections on aboveground storage tanks knowledge of API 653 practices ability interpret data identify corrosion metal loss strong understanding related confined space entry tank work valid driver’s license pass background drug fitness-duty requirements
