- Work closely with trading, legal, risk, and accounting to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Manage the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate compliance risks
- Manage the review, analysis, and reporting of results from internal trade surveillance system(s)
- Respond to and report alerts from internal compliance systems/solutions
- Lead internal compliance investigations and reviews of trading activity
- In partnership with legal, lead investigations and responses to regulatory inquiries
- Lead routine compliance trainings
- Manage process improvement initiatives, compliance-related project work
- Manage and lead the compliance team; mentor and train junior teammates
- Education: Bachelor's degree MLS or JD degree preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years' relevant experience in a compliance, audit, middle office, or legal role Experience in a trading organization, financial services, or legal firm preferred Experience with oil, refined products, NGL, and/or biofuel markets preferred
- Skills: Proven understanding of commodities/energy markets Proven organizational and time-management/prioritization skills Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills Knowledge of laws and regulations related to Musket's commercial business lines Familiarity with RightAngle or other ETRM system preferred
- Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
