    Work Experience Specialist

    to cover the Sherman Oaks


    area Founded in 1975, The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and most comprehensive nonprofit of its kind in the United States serving children and adults with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays, abuse and emotional problems.

    This program offers an enriched curriculum that also includes vocational assessments, career awareness and exploration, pre-employment skills training and work experiences to adults with disabilities.


    Salary range:
    $ $22.00/hr


    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
    B.A. degree, CBEST, and experience in special education, vocational rehabilitation, psychology or related field desired.
    Experience and ability to work well with high school students. or young adults, with special needs to autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and/or emotional/behavioral challenges
    Ability to collaborate with school personnel and coordinate, develop and oversee elements of the Workability and We Can Work programs
    Ability to develop paid and unpaid jobs off campus with community employers.
    Must be able to work Monday- Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM.
    Ability to attend meetings in the Sherman Oaks office as needed

    EXCITING RESPONSIBILITIE
    Provide coordination and oversight of elements of the Workability 1 and We Can Work programs

    Work collaboratively with school principals, teachers and the Vocational Director, to ensure that the Workability 1 and We Can Work programs are designed and meet the goal and expectations of the funders.

    Ensure that all necessary Workability 1 and We Can Work documentation, data collection, records, data entry files, and reports are proper, timely, and in compliance with program requirements
