- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of legal resources including statutes, judicial precedents, legal publications, treaties, constitutions, and statutory codes.
- Draft and file various legal documents and correspondences, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, articles of incorporation, deeds, and trust instruments, subject to attorney review and approval.
- Investigate case facts and applicable laws to ascertain causes of action and prepare cases accordingly.
- Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Proficient in courtroom technology handling and troubleshooting.
- Organize and set up courtroom technology as required, and remain available for attorney assistance during trials.
- Coordinate and set up "war room" facilities for attorneys as necessary.
- Efficiently manage technological challenges under pressure.
- Assist with discovery processes, including bates labeling and document indexing.
- Thoroughly proofread all work, ensuring accuracy and coherence.
- Maintain and monitor docket calendars and deadlines.
- Perform electronic filings with State and Federal Courts and Administrative Agencies.
- Conduct electronic filings and searches with the Secretary of State.
- Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations.
- Operate technology during court proceedings, hearings, and mediations.
- Facilitate the opening of new client accounts and matters, and manage conflict resolution processes.
- Undertake additional administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, responding to inquiries, composing routine correspondence, assisting with billing, client communication, and handling incoming mail.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a litigation paralegal or equivalent role within a law firm, and civil trial support preferably with a focus on commercial litigation matters.
- Bachelor's degree and/or certification from an ABA-approved paralegal program is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of the litigation process from inception to conclusion.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to meet deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
