Senior Information Security Engineer

Role Overview:
This is an internally facing, technology-oriented position protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and data at Segra.
The Senior Security Engineer is expected to be a strong IT generalist with experience across a wide variety of technologies and a specialist in one or more security domains.
Areas of focus for individual engineers may vary, but potential specialties include Cloud Security, Log Management & SIEM, Continuous Monitoring, Malware Prevention, Firewalls and Intrusion Detection, Vulnerability Management, and Security Awareness.
Required Experience:5 Years IT experience in a hands-on security, network/systems infrastructure, or developer role; or 10 Years experience in a general information technology role.
Experience with security features of Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and AWSProficient in at least one scripting language (Python, PowerShell, or equivalent)Proficient in Windows and LinuxExperience in networking and systems administration (Windows and Linux)Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong critical thinking, analytical, and engineering skills, including the ability to independently analyze and understand both new technologies and legacy solutions.
Desired Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or high school diploma/GED with relevant work experience.
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365 (e.g., IAM, PIM, Identity Governance, Azure Policies, Entra, Intune, DLP, IaaS)Experience with security additional cloud providers, including AWS and GCPExperience with administration of Splunk, Splunk ES or other SIEM platformsFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, Ansible, git)Understanding of authentication and identity technologies (IAM, SSO, AD/LDAP/Kerberos)Experience with security incident responseFamiliarity with EDR/MDR/XDR platformsStrong understanding of operating systems and command line administration at all levels.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols at all layers of the OSI stackFamiliarity with DevSecOps, SDLC, and Docker and containerization practices and toolsUnderstanding of the HTTP protocol, Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies, BurpSuite testing, and APIsUnderstanding of PKI, SSL/TLS, and cryptographic functionsExperience working in micro-segmented environmentsComfortable with regular expressionsDemonstrated commitment to ongoing skills developmentCurrent relevant industry certifications (SANS/GIAC, etc.), Azure or AWS architecture or security certifications.
