    Summit Line Construction

    is headquartered in Heber City, Utah. With additional Utah locations in Sandy and Provo. You can also find us in Northern California, Reno, Las Vegas and Phoenix.

    Position Overview:
    Summit Line Construction is seeking an experienced

    Estimator

    to join our growing team in Heber City, Utah.


    What You'll Do:
    Pre-qualification with specified clients.
    Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
    Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative.

    Support the department leader with the functioning of the Estimating Department, ongoing development and maintenance of computerized estimating programs and databases.

    Work under deadline pressures in an efficient,

    composed

    and calm manner.

    Work alongside other estimators, project managers and project engineers on change orders and cost to complete estimates of ongoing projects.

    Determine

    appropriate construction

    methods for bidding purposes.
    Additional

    duties as assigned by management.
    Analyze

    and

    interpret

    request for proposal

    s

    (RFP), project specifications, and pricing

    schedules
    Attend pre-bid meetings,

    collaborations and conferences with clients and design

    professionals
    Define division of responsibilities

    ,

    d

    raft

    scope letters,

    proposals

    and vendor solicitations
    Prepare

    pre-approval project estimates based on

    drawings and

    narrative

    and general scopes of work, often lacking specific

    precedence
    Perform material

    ,

    labor,

    and equipment

    take-offs and cost analyses to support

    estimates
    Develop weighting criteria for proposal

    evaluations
    Review estimate with operations team and executive team
    Provide expert judgment of costs to support competitive bid and negotiated

    contracts
    Prepare and

    submit

    proposal documents to

    client
    Assume

    additional

    responsibilities as directed by division or project

    management
    Work with client on questions and clarifications post bid

    submission
    Assist

    project team with questions

    regarding

    construction and contractual

    requirements


    What You'll Bring:
    Experience in estimating and/or managing large scale electrical

    projects
    Degree in associated field preferred
    Strong analytical and mathematic skills
    Knowledge of design, estimating, construction, finance, and management
    Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, scaling, legends, etc.
    Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    Ability to

    anticipate

    and meet internal customer needs
    Ability to

    maintain

    confidentiality
    Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes,

    standards

    and activities.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening)
    Ability to organize and prioritize

    numerous

    tasks
    Ability to travel as needed
    Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR)
