    Purpose

    The Scientific Machine Learning for Advanced Reactor Technology (SMART) Lab at the Texas A&M Department of Nuclear Engineering is inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher position. We offer an innovative and collaborative environment where the successful candidate will join a team of highly motivated students engaged in pioneering research. Our projects sit at the nexus of AI agents, digital twins, physics-informed machine learning, and their application in nuclear power engineering.

    Responsibilities:
    • Facilitate the development of a thermal-fluid demonstration facility that leverages digital twin technology for autonomous control and flexible operation.
    • Co-mentor graduate students.
    • Compile and prepare reports, manuscripts, and conference presentations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    What we need:
    • Doctoral Degree
    What is helpful:
    • Comprehensive expertise in the design, operation, and control of thermal-fluid systems, as well as AI/ML.
    • A robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields is highly desirable.
    Knowledge, skills, & Abilities:
    • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and speaking, with a proven ability to engage effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
    Work Location:
    • Main Campus - College Station, TX.
    • Some positions may have potential for a flexible work schedule or location.
