Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, Hotbox to join our team in one of todays most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Sr. Engineering Program Manager and based in Newark, Delaware.


About the role:

The Advanced Manufacturing team will lead the manufacturing engineering efforts for the release of new products as well as the advancement of the manufacturing state of the art.

They will serve as technical experts in SOFC and SOEC system manufacturing.

This role will drive innovation in manufacturing through development of new technologies and methods, as well as maintain a focused effort to drive design for manufacturing back into the development cycles.

Role and Responsibilities:

Coordinate with internal manufacturing teams and external product development teams to advance the state-of-the-art in SOFC/SOEC hotbox manufacturing through the development of novel manufacturing approaches and application of new manufacturing technologies and processesRepresent the manufacturing division as the technical expert in SOFC/SOEC hotbox manufacturingDrive DFM efforts with Product Development and New Product Introduction teamsInterface with Product Development and New Product Introduction teams to ensure the manufacturing requirements are met for new product launches.

Accountable for ensuring the readiness of design and manufacturing documentation for new product launches according to the new product introduction process.

Implements the manufacturing new product introduction process for new product Hotbox manufacturing Sets policies, procedures, and standards for best practices in new product Hotbox manufacturingCollaborates with other departments to ensure all manufacturing protocols meets the highest level of performance, reliability, and safety.

Skills and Experience:
10+ years in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering in an energy or manufacturing environment, preferably with fuel cell, oil and gas, aerospace, or power generation industriesMinimum BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering) requiredAbility to understand, troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment & processes in a hands-on manner Experience in rapid scale up of new products and or operations is highly desirableStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods Effective problem-solving skillsDemonstrates accountability in all job aspects
