    HAYWARD, CA

    We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Human Resources Manager for one of the largest National auto accessory distributors in the United States. Someone who knows 'what good looks like' when it comes to Human Resources and employee relations.

    This position requires a good portion of the day managing employee relations and investigations.

    You will manage our teams at distribution centers in the Midwest and Southwest territories but will be working onsite at our corporate HQ in Hayward. Hybrid may be considered as the candidate grows more into the role (1 day per week potentially). Hours could vary based upon the time zone you are working on each day.

    The Human Resources Manager will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us plan and administer important functions such as staffing, training and development, leaves of absence, and compensation and benefits.

    To be successful as a Human Resources Manager, you must exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of federal, multi-state, and local compliance issues, employee relationships, and training.

    SALARY RANGE - $115 - $135K DOE with bonus opportunities and tremendous benefits

    DUTIES

    • Provide guidance and support to both upper management and the employees to successfully manage and implement processes, such as LOA, benefits, workers comp and employee relations.
    • Ability to create and improve our essential HR processes including employee relations, professional development, and employee/partner engagement.
    • Take charge of the people data in our HRIS - ADP Workforce HRIS for compliance and generates reporting from HRIS and Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
    • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating - as necessary - complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Effectively conduct thorough, fair, and timely investigations, making well-reasoned determinations and appropriate recommendations regarding outcomes.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of labor law and employment regulations; Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, by constantly analyzing policies and practices; Continually study and stay current of trends, recommended best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and talent management.
    • Train and mentor leadership, managers or supervisors in the areas of employee relations and legal compliance.
    • Assess operations to positively impact retention at all levels and proactively identify areas of opportunities.
    • Act as a Subject matter expert (SME) to assist employee benefit operations, to include health and welfare and retirement plans.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Degree in HR or related field OR a combination of education/experience.
    • 5-8 years of experience in HR leadership.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software.
    • Certification obtained from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) preferred.
