    Position Summary


    The University of Illinois Chicago's Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science is seeking facilitators for the IMARA for Black Male Caregivers and Girls Empowerment (IMAGE) study.

    A major component of our study is engaging Black families and communities in research using culturally sensitive methods.

    IMAGE aims to study the implementation and delivery of the IMAGE intervention and enhance community-based organizations' capacity to provide prevention programming for Black girls (aged 13-18 years) and their male caregivers IMAGE is funded by the National Institutes of Minority Health Disparities, R01MD018929.


    The IMAGE study is a randomized controlled trial to evaluate an innovative and uniquely tailored HIV/STI, sexual, and reproductive health intervention program designed for Black girls and their male caregivers.

    The facilitator will conduct intervention workshops with participants and assist as needed in participant enrollment and data collection.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Become proficient in the IMAGE curricula, including content, process, and group management procedures; Assist in training Become proficient in study enrollment, and data collection procedures and protocols, including completing required human subject's trainings Team-teach interventions with small groups of participants Conduct research study activities and tasks as needed

    Interventions may occur at various sites in the community and the University of Illinois Chicago. Travel throughout the city will be necessary using a personal vehicle. Some activities will occur in the evenings and/or weekends. Candidates must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours.


    Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in the social or health sciences (i.e., social work, public health, nursing, medicine) or related field
    • Experience working with youth and families
    • Experience with facilitation of group-based health-related interventions, group process, and behavior management
    • Ability to travel to multiple work sites and comfort working in community settings
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Advanced degree in a relevant area such as public health, psychology, or social work
    • Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional professionalism
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work autonomously and complete job responsibilities independently
