    Description

    Aging in Place is locally owned and operated by a nurse that understands the true meaning of compassion. Aging in Place is committed to providing the much-needed quality care that the senior population has worked so hard to deserve. Aging In Place is also a preferred provider for the VA and is honored to be able to serve our Veterans. We are looking for a compassionate individual wanting to make a difference in the life of a Veteran in South East Kansas City near Swope Park. All caregivers including males and veterans are encouraged to apply. Benefits

    Responsibilities
    • Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly client by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating
    • Help clients take prescribed medication
    • Use a Hoyer lift for transfers
    • Perform housekeeping duties
    • Report any unusual incidents or change in client's health status
    • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
    • Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary
    Qualifications
    • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
    • Must be able to begin shifts at 7 AM.
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with the physical capability to perform job-related duties
    • Must be proficient in use of a Hoyer lift to make transfers
    • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation every single day
    • Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
    • Prior experience in healthcare, in-home care environment or caregiving
    • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
    • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
    • Take pride in providing high-quality care
    • Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
    • Reliable, punctual, dependable
