    Albemarle is seeking a Capital Projects Site Director to join the Specialties Bromine Global Business Unit in Magnolia, AR. This is a critical role for the organization in a challenging engineering and plant environment.


    Job Summary:

    Portfolio Management:


    The Capital Projects Site Director will lead a portfolio of Capital Projects related to ongoing sustaining capital activities at Albemarle's Magnolia, AR facilities.

    The Manager will collaborate internally with
    Engineering, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Process Technology stakeholders to successfully develop, manage, coordinate, and execute associated projects. It is imperative that this individual can influence and communicate with stakeholders and senior-level leadership.


    People Management:


    A major responsibility of this individual is manage and lead the assigned project teams to ensure safe and predictable project outcomes.


    The responsibilities will include site oversight and functional leadership for all engineering disciplines including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Instrumentation & Controls, and Corporate standards and specifications.


    The Capital Projects Site Director will have overall responsibility for the execution of Albemarle's Project Process (APP) as it applies to front end development, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning & startup.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    Lead a cross functional team of project practitioners to define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders: including meetings, setting of priorities, evaluating comments/requests, and ensuring stakeholder's approval.

    Drive collaboration with other site departments to ensure best utilization of resources and provide opportunity for all employees to work together for a single site focus
    Lead and manage both internal and external project resources to ensure project success.
    Forecast and manage department internal budget and headcount needs.
    Ensure adequate tracking and reporting controls are established to evaluate the portfolio's progress and performance.

    Track and communicate project status, risks, and key milestones to internal (GBU) project stakeholders, and adjust project plans, budget requests and/or resources as required to meet project requirements.

    Work with assigned project managers to develop robust FEL design packages, utilizing approved engineering service providers.

    Provide specific discipline expertise to assure continuity and maintenance of Albemarle Corporation Engineering Specifications and Standards, including best practice documentation to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.

    Maintain quality and timeliness of safety activities and deliverables throughout the project delivery process.

    Participate in HSE reviews, permit audits and housekeeping inspections.
    Ensures that process hazard analysis open/action items are adequately addressed in engineering deliverables prior to full project funding.
    Create effective goals and expectations to drive team and project success.
    Responsible for managing the operation and staffing of the site engineering organization
    Must be able to recruit, manage, and develop/train site engineering personnel.


    Business, Function, & Team Leadership:
    Drive the development and execution of site capital plans
    Ensure sites capital plans are aligned with business and manufacturing long term (5 year) plans
    Display and champion the Albemarle Core Values on the project team.
    Organize and lead steering team meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment with senior management.

    Maintain constant vigilance for personal and surrounding worker safety, communicate unsafe conditions immediately, and provide direction to ensure design and construction are always performed in a safe and injury free manner.

    Mentor project staff on strategic and business aspects of projects.


    Essential Qualifications:
    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or from an accredited university, or related degree
    Professional Engineering (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus but not a must have
    15 or more years of experience in the Chemical Process Industry or similar/related industry

    Minimum of 10 years working as Project Lead in a petrochemical or industrial manufacturing environment with progressive demonstration of experience on executing capital projects.


    It is preferred that the experience is a mix of time in office as well as time in a plant or manufacturing environment.

    Minimum 5 years of Management or Supervisory experience in an Owner organization
    Good working knowledge of project planning and execution during plant outages.
    Extensive in-depth knowledge of technical deliverables for mechanical, civil/structural/architectural, electrical, instrumentation and controls design and drawings.
    Experience with a phase-gate or stage-gate project process


    Skills:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to communicate with and influence senior level leadership within an organization.
    Effective at working with other staff members and plant personnel in a fast-paced environment.
    Works effectively within a project stage-gate system environment
    Knowledge of a variety of project contracting strategies.
    Ability to supervise internal and external multi-disciplined teams.
    Mentor project teams/managers regarding project management best practices
    Knowledge of project controls, including estimating, planning/scheduling, risk management, productivity measurement and cost control.
