    Description


    The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, reconciling, and analyzing financial information on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including the performance of, or assistance with, a variety of assigned balance sheet reconciliations including the timely resolution of reconciling items.

    S/He is responsible for recording financial and statistical journal entries and providing a variety of reports as necessary. S/He must be knowledgeable with US GAAP. S/He will support the organization's acquisition and growth plans.

    S/He has a level of responsibility for the review of the work of others and the ability to follow up on outstanding issues.

    Essential Job Functions

    Research and apply financial accounting standards to specific transactions/situations/scenarios. Evaluate, assess, and comply with internal controls and company policies. Identifies, recommends, and implements process improvements and policy updates.
    Prepare monthly journal entries, including supporting documentation and calculations. Maintain adequate support for journal entries.
    Prepare monthly financial statements and support financial statement consolidation. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analyses including and follow up and resolve outstanding variances or issues.
    Assist with the annual audit, 401k audit and or other audits as requested.
    Prepare monthly intercompany statements and distribute statements to operating companies.

    Reconcile ending statement balances to general ledger and confirm operating companies' month-end balances agree for proper elimination during the month end consolidation.

    Support the organizations acquisition and growth plans assisting opening balance sheet preparation, purchase price accounting, and aligning legacy Chart of Accounts to the Global Chart of Accounts.

    Prepare monthly financials consolidation of GAAP financial statements, annual audits, tax return filings, budgets, and ERP implementation.
    Support annual audits, tax return filings, budgets, and ERP implementation. Assist with processing expense reports, reconciling transactions and payments to credit card statements.
    Serve as financial liaison to end users of financial statements. Respond to requests from administration, department managers, and other finance personnel. Participate in special projects as necessary. Mentor and cross-train other accountants and new staff members.
    Requirements

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent analytical degree required.
    5+ years progressive experience in an Accounting required.
    Public accounting experience and CPA designation preferred.
    Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
    Working knowledge and experience with an accounting software system required.
    Advanced Excel Skills, and high level of systems proficiency required.

    Demonstrates ownership and accountability; the ability to plan, execute, control, and deliver; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; independently define problems, collect data, establish facts, and solve problems; develop priorities and adjust work plan to meet deadlines; apply logic and common sense understanding to carry out varying technical or mathematical instructions and general accounting procedures.

    Physical Requirements

    Performing the duties of this job regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, hearing/listening, repetitive hand movement, grasping and reaching. Vision requirements include the ability for close vision, and to adjust focus.

    This position requires the ability to: maintain an appropriate work pace, comprehend, write, and follow instructions, exercise logic and reasoning, read, communicate verbally and in writing, make decisions, count, and compute, multitask/ re-direct and experience numerous interruptions.

    Other Requirements

    At period end (quarter, annual) hours and days may be extended to accommodate deadlines. Limited travel occasionally.
    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
