    Overall Responsibility:


    A Traffic Engineer 2 supports the Division/Project Manager in the preparation of quality traffic engineering studies and construction plans for various public and private clients.

    Must be self-motivated individual that works well in a team-oriented environment. Must be able to apply critical thinking skills to make independent engineering judgements and design decisions

    o f s e rvice ev a luations.
    Firm understanding of tra f fic signal and ITS sy s t e ms.
    Ability to quickly grasp and apply new design procedures/ordinances.
    A firm understanding and consistent application of Southeastern Engineering, Inc./GDOT design standards.

    w r i ti n g sk i lls

    in preparing documents .

    Prepare/Review construction plans for the installation of traffic signal and other traffic control systems that meet the requirements of the Georgia Department of Transportation and/or the local jurisdiction.

    Prepare/Review traffic engineering studies that support the requirements of projects with state and local agencies and the private development sector.

    GDOT PDP experience and knowledge of GDOTs PPG and EDG.
    Firm knowledge of local state, county ordinances, including ADA guidelines.
    Firm data collection knowledge (count data, crash data, field inspections, signal timing data, basic surveying techniques, etc.),

    and ability to interpret and evaluate the quality of data.
    Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates.

    Experience, Proficiencies, Skills and Certifications:
    Bachelor's degree (BS) in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university.
    Minimum 4 year of related study and design experience.
    Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) in Georgia required.
    Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia preferred.
    Working knowledge of

    AutoCAD, Microstation, Synchro, HCS, PC Warrants and Vissim

    .
    Firm knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe PDF.
    Must possess current, valid driver's license and Social Security Card or other documentation for E-Verify. EOE.
