- Participating as a valuable member of a diverse medical team.
- Assigning tasks to volunteers, as well as contributing to the training of student interns.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in fields like Child Development or a related discipline with a focus on child life studies.
- Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship under the guidance of a certified practitioner.
- Proficiency in problem-solving utilizing child development theory, professional child life standards, and practical knowledge.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including conflict resolution abilities to thrive in a team setting.
- Mandatory Child Life Certification to be obtained within the first year of employment.

Position OverviewIn this role of Child Life Specialist, you will play a crucial part in supporting individuals and families within our demanding Medical and Surgical Intensive Care units. We seek a seasoned professional to engage in therapeutic endeavors aimed at aiding patients and their families during challenging times such as trauma, grief, complex diagnoses, and acute medical conditions. Collaborating with a dedicated team of Child Life Specialists, you will collectively work on providing coping mechanisms, preparation, and education regarding the hospital environment. This is a part-time position.
