    JOB SUMMARY

    The Compliance Specialist is responsible for monitoring the compliance for a diverse portfolio of both senior and multi-family properties that include multiple funding sources from Affordable Housing Programs such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8 Project Based Vouchers, Rural Development, CDBG Funds, and HOME funds.


    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain technical understanding of compliance requirements for various affordable housing programs
    • Monitor compliance for a diverse portfolio
    • Review & Approve all resident files prior to certification deadline
    • Maintain & Review state housing agency monitoring compliance manuals and state specific compliance requirements
    • Assist in state and investor file audits and conduct necessary research to prepare response
    • Assist in agency and investor reporting
    • Maintain OneSite Database
    • Assist in revisions to company procedures and forms
    • Assist with training property management staff on compliance
    • Compose and proof materials
    • Demonstrates and follows the Oakbrook Values: Ethical, Professional, Collaborative, Family
    • All other duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

    • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
    • Education or experience in insurance, auditing, investigation, banking, real estate, or finance
    • Affordable Housing experience (HUD Sec. 8, Tax Credit, Rural Development, HOME, CDBG, etc.)
    • HCCP and/or COS Certificates are a bonus
    • Computer software applications knowledge and Microsoft suite skills
