    • Teaching 3-week Middle School Summer English course to students in grades 6, 7 and 8.
    • Providing an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of young women
    • Integrates technology effectively into reading, writing, and classroom practices
    • Effective and consistent communication with students, parents, staff, and community
    • Develops, selects, and differentiates instruction to meet the needs of a diverse populations
    • Providing an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of young women
    • Using student choice in reading as well as teacher directed texts
    • Maintaining appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices The ideal candidate will possess:
      • Bachelor's Degree in related field required with teaching experience in various levels of secondary education 6-12. Master's Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
      • Teaching experience at the middle grades level
      • Mastery of English grammar, writing, and reading
      • Ability to connect to students, to curriculum, to the world
      • Commitment to embrace the school's mission and values
      • Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth and passion for teaching and inspiring a love of learning
      • Experience using a variety of pedagogical strategies
      • Collaborative spirit to develop and plan curricula
      • Proven experience engaging students in literary experiences that foster deeper thinking, collaboration, and shared responsibility
