- Provide sign language interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring effective communication in the educational setting.
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and parents to facilitate understanding and inclusion of students with hearing impairments.
- Interpret classroom lectures, discussions, and other educational activities into American Sign Language (ASL) or other appropriate sign systems.
- Support students during one-on-one and group interactions to enhance their participation and engagement in academic and social activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and families.
- Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting, Deaf Education, or related field preferred.
- RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other sign systems as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting preferred.
