    Position Summary:


    The Associate Director, Ophthalmology is a key member of the Global Medical Affairs team who will work closely with medical affairs and cross-functional stakeholders to implement key aspects of the Global Medical strategy for ophthalmology and potential global launches of pegcetacoplan in geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

    These activities may include data generation, insight gathering, and scientific communications/publications, as the medical affairs team prepares for launch readiness in the ophthalmology space.


    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Support the development of tactics on the Global Evidence Generation team in alignment with product strategy
    • Work closely with the Biostatistics department to support the analysis of clinical data across multiple pegcetacoplan ophthalmology studies
    • Develop novel approaches to data visualization in support of evidence generation efforts
    • Provide data analysis support to various workstreams
    • Support the medical communications strategy across multiple clinical studies
    • Drive and/or assist in development and implementation of evidence generation strategy (Phase IV, real-world evidence/HEOR, post hoc analyses, investigator initiated trials and collaborative research),
    • Collaborate with cross functional team on approaches to fill identified data and/or communication gaps in alignment with overall strategic objectives
    • Serve as strategic/scientific resource to cross-functional stakeholders

    Education, Registration & Certification:

    • PhD, Pharm D or MD level degree or equivalent required

    Experience:

    • 2-5 years + experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology medical affairs organization
    • Experience in retina/ophthalmology therapeutic area strongly preferred
    • Experience in immunology and ocular inflammation is preferred
    • Agency management experience preferred

    Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

    • Significant experience across drug development stages, particularly in late-stage development, launch, and post approval setting
    • Experience interpreting statistical analyses strongly preferred
    • Expertise developing different approaches to data analyses strongly preferred
    • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus
    • Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team, and influence at all levels of an organization
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation
    • Ability to work independently and with flexibility to handle workflow in a fast-paced environment
    • Some travel will be required, up to 40%
