Job summary
This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones scheduling patient appointments providing registration of patient and insurance information obtaining required signatures following established processes procedures and standards.
Responsibilities
- Performs registration/check-in processes including but not limited to performing data entry activities providing patients with appropriate information intake forms obtaining necessary signatures generating population health summary.
- Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with payors documents appropriately assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification referrals authorizations.
- Calls collect patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits expected reimbursement explains provides financial policies available resources alternative payment arrangements patients families.
- Schedules office visits procedures within medical practice external practices as necessary maximizes reimbursement scheduling patients accordance payor plan provisions confirms patient appointments follows day ensures prepared visits
- Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills dealing patient concerns telephone calls emails person conversations optimizes flow using customer service communication skills communicating internal external customers care team management centralized services HIMS
- Assists responding requests medical records company policies procedures state federal laws
- Provides variety patient services assist flow escorting taking vitals history assisting treatment distributing mail fax ordering supplies etc
