    Pulmonary/NeuroCritical Care based APP Position

    JOB SUMMARY

    Baylor University Medical Center's HTPN Pulmonary and Critical Care department is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join their team in Dallas, where intensive care medicine is provided with a strong focus on patient care and service.

    The ideal candidate will provide patient care in a competent, professional, and courteous manner, collaborating closely with intensivists who will provide continuing education in the evaluation and management of ICU patients. This role entails performing various procedures independently and adhering to clinical protocols.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

    1. Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories to assess patient conditions.
    2. Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests to determine patient problems and healthcare needs.
    3. Prescribe, recommend, or perform therapeutic treatments and procedures in accordance with approved protocols, considering efficacy, safety, and cost.
    4. Develop comprehensive treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, and professional guidelines, collaborating with physicians and other team members as needed.
    5. Counsel patients and families about medical processes, health promotion, and medication management.
    6. Maintain accurate records detailing treatment plans and outcomes, initiating timely consultation and referral when necessary.
    7. Provide consultation-level services for conditions related to the provider's specialty and training.
    8. Perform invasive procedures within the scope of practice and competency, as delegated by supervising physicians.
    9. Participate in hospital rounds, admissions, discharges, and on-call support.
    10. Shift/Schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts / Days

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. EDUCATION - Graduation from an Accredited Program with AGACNP certification.
    2. Inpatient experience.
    3. At least 2 years of ICU experience preferred.

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
    3. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC).
