2-year Visiting Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor in German - Danville - Centre College

Centre College invites applications for a two-year visiting position as Visiting Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor of German, beginning in August 2026.

Candidates must be ABD or have a Ph.
D. in German Studies by the time of appointment.

The successful candidate will teach 18 credits per academic year and teach all levels of German as well as courses in our general education curriculum (DLM).

Native or near-native fluency in German and English is required. Specialization is open.

Candidates with an interdisciplinary focus or background, such as STEM-infused German language and culture courses, would be of particular interest.

The candidate must be committed to excellent teaching in a liberal arts setting and contribute to the growth of our German program including attending German events.

Evidence of research and scholarly productivity is desirable.
