    The purpose of the Finance Analytics CoE is to drive Governance, Value Framing, Prioritization and Execution of Analytics solutions across the Finance organization to create organizational efficiency. The CoE will evaluate the use of data and analytics (data quality, data model design, best practices); collaborate with GIT and Colgate Analytics team; build and maintain Analytics Capabilities; facilitate trainings and finance employees awareness of new tools and methodologies

    The Finance Analytics Intern supports the Finance Analytics CoE and internal stakeholders identify high value and actionable business questions. This position will help evaluate, conceptualize and build machine learning, predictive modeling, simulations, and optimization solutions that will help answer key stakeholder questions.

    The Finance Analytics Intern will also support the COE Analytics team to implement new analytics solutions. The Finance Analytics Internship is located in Piscataway, New Jersey.

    Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualizes and builds predictive modeling, simulations, and optimization solutions to address business questions or use cases
  • Applies ML and AI to analytics algorithms to build inferential and predictive models allowing for scalable solutions to be deployed across the business
  • Conducts model validations and continuous improvement of the algorithms, capabilities, or solutions built
  • Study large amounts of data to discover trends and patterns through various technologies like BigQuery and SQL
  • Evaluate the use of Gen AI in Finance Analytics to enhance and facilitate financial analysis
  • Support the development of end to end business solutions from data extraction, data preparation, data mining to statistical modeling and then building business presentations in partnership with GIT
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, CBS Analytics, GIT Developers
  • Work on an Action Learning Project (ALP) to be assigned at the beginning of the internship and present results at the end of the internship
  • Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Statistics, Mathematics , or Computer Science
  • Experience on developing statistical models, such as linear regression, ridge regression, lasso, random forest, SVM, gradient boosting, logistic regression, K-Means Clustering, Hierarchical Clustering, Bayesian Regression etc. a plus
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc. a plus
  • Experience on coding languages such as Python, R, or SQL preferred
  • Understanding of visualization tool such as Tableau, Domo, Sigma, Data Studio (Looker Studio)
  • Analytic thinking and ability to apply root cause analysis as well as ability to create a good story telling based on data
  • Willingness and ability to leverage latest technology to experiment with new tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of Google products (BigQuery, data studio, coda, colab etc)
  • Compensation

    Salary Range $ $28.75 USD

    Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location.
