- Develop and maintain "flat file" data preparation tools to ensure seamless data loads into SAC software platform.
- Perform SAC master data maintenance and updates.
- Support various SAC end users in resolving issues related to software navigation, data version updates, and reporting.
- Conduct research, document findings, propose and present solutions for migrating existing Excel-based processes into the SAC platform.
- Collaborate with IT staff and/or outside vendors to effectuate configuration changes requiring advanced system knowledge.
- Implement additional reports to present data concisely and usefully.
- Implement financial models and modeling changes to quantify potential impacts of industry changes and changes in the company's overall business, including net income forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and relevant financial metrics. Test calculations and ensure model accuracy.
- Represent Business Services during additional software selection processes and subsequent implementations.
- Working knowledge in finance, mathematics, accounting, or economics.
- Familiarity with utility finance and/or the NYISO market is preferred.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to organize data, conduct research, document findings, and report on analyses effectively. Adaptability to rapidly changing environments is essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other computer applications and file organization procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to use Pivot Tables, Tables, and Database formulas within MS Excel. An Excel test will be conducted during the interview.
- Working knowledge of SAC, SAP BI, and/or NYISO DSS is preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work closely with others to achieve group and cross-departmental goals.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job assignments and complete tasks in a timely manner, sometimes with limited supervision.
- Proactive attitude towards learning and implementing change.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or equivalent required.
- Utility experience with an understanding of corporate finance and governmental regulations and requirements is preferred.

Description:The Financial Systems Analyst (FSA) helps the Business Services division under the Chief Financial Officer bridge gaps between technology and business processes. This role enables leadership to make informed business decisions, contributing to maintaining competitive margins and financial integrity in the evolving electric utility industry. The FSA is directly responsible for the development and maintenance of financial systems used within Finance and is a strategic partner for the team, which includes Financial Planning and Analysis, Revenue Pricing and Analysis, Budgets, Accounting, and Treasury. The FSA assists software package users in day-to-day activities, including data loads, maintenance, data extraction, and development of new reporting packages. The FSA also analyzes and researches existing processes configured outside the structured software platform, documents processes, and proposes and assists in implementing solutions within the financial software platforms. Additionally, the FSA helps design and maintain automated financial tools and systems to ensure quality information and reports are produced and delivered to senior management on a timely basis.
