    Our team collaborates to provide programs that foster a child's social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth.

    To succeed in this position, you should be patient, enthusiastic, and fun-loving, with a passion for child development and care.


    Age requirement:
    Must be at least 18 years of age.

    This is a part-time position (Monday through Friday, hours available from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.) that runs through May.

    Typical shifts are 4 hours in length and you must commit to at least 2 shifts per week. Up to 20 hours per week available in this particular role.

    The YMCA operates numerous after school sites throughout Lexington and Fayette County. Candidates will be placed at designated location(s) dependent upon availability and staffing.


    POSITION SUMMARY:


    The YMCA of Central Kentucky's part-time SACC Group Leader provides direct supervision of children and is responsible for the successful implementation of quality after school care.

    The Leader promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall experience.

    Group Leaders assist the SACC Site Director in the implementation a culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate curriculum that creates a positive, nurturing environment and includes adult directed activities and center choices that takes into consideration the needs of each child and the goals and objectives of the YMCA.


    Employee is regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.

    The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is required to sit, and occasionally taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
