    We are searching for a Thermal engineer experienced in all mission phases including design, analysis, test, and operations. The engineer would be responsible for leading a team of engineers that is accountable for ensuring all satellite components are designed to operate within temperature limits through the entire life cycle of a mission. The ideal candidate for this role enjoys using on-orbit data to improve the design and analysis of future missions and can develop empirical tools for designing similar systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Lead a team of engineers that are accountable for performing integrated thermal analysis to determine radiator/heater sizing and external coatings required to maintain all elements of the SV in thermal limits.
    • Coach and mentor team members on technical and professional challenges, create development plans and create an excellent team culture.
    • Execute load capacity planning and work assignments to ensure program milestones and trade studies are met.
    • Act as the company SME for thermal analysis and thermal design. Support anomaly resolution, customer meetings and supplier meetings to drive the right overall system solution.
    • Support hardware designers in selection of materials, process and tests that comply with thermal design.
    • Coordinate thermal interfaces between spacecraft subsystems. Flow down interfaces and environments to component suppliers.
    • Develop test and verification approaches and levels for thermal verification of components.
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred but not required.
    • 12+ years of thermal analysis experience, 5+ years of team leadership, technical leadership or management experience.
    • Thermal Desktop/Autocad
    • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively within an organization and convey decisions, direction, and conclusions in a manner meaningful to the audience.
    • Extensive experience in spacecraft design, launch and operation including experience at all phases of the development lifecycle.
    • Experience in integrated software / hardware verification and test.
    • Ability to gain a security clearance.
