    Description

    Control risks is hiring for a Data Engineer role to directly support our clients Global Security team as they collect and review current and historical data to understand trends in their security program.

    This ideal candidate will have a strong background in both compliance and data analytics, understanding how to work in SQL, Python, Tableau and other data analytics tools.


    Roles and responsibilities:
    Investigative data analysis, pulling and reconciling data across multiple systems.

    Use statistical and machine learning techniques to create scalable systems.


    Maintain and update live data pipelines and operationalize new data pipelines as additional data sources are identified within the scope of deliverables.


    Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of the Client's historical business data to help automate and optimize key processes.

    Design, development, and evaluation of highly innovative models for predictive learning.

    Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation.

    Building SOPs for gathering data and searching specific systems.

    Regular control monitoring report resolutions.

    Use individual problem-solving and analytical skills to authenticate customers.

    Requirements

    3-5 years of Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning experience.

    Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: Python, SQL, etc.

    Experience in developing data pipelines and collection workflows from various disparate data sources including APIs, Structured Databases, Monitoring Platforms.

    Experience in collecting, transforming, processing and engineering these datasets for visualization and reporting.

    Knowledge and experience using analytics tools for data visualization, data management, ETL, processing, data aggregation, visualization and reporting.


    Familiarity and knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques (Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Text Mining, Social Network Analysis, etc.) and machine learning techniques (regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modelling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks) is a plus.


    Self-starter that can work independently, that can take direction for tasks while at the same time providing expertise and knowledge in technical skills to guide and shape discussion with the rest of the team.

    Demonstrated experience working on teams or projects related to risk management.

    The base salary range for this position in California is $130,000-$150,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per California SB 1162.
