    Hourly Description Protecting the Integrity of Idaho Financial Markets The Department of Finance has an amazing opportunity for a professional to join our Securities Bureau team as a Financial Examiner/Investigator.

    This is the first level of a multi-level job series.

    The Securities Bureau is responsible for protecting the investing public from fraudulent money service activities while assisting legitimate businesses in their efforts to provide services to the citizens of Idaho.

    This position performs critical functions such as registration of money service businesses, responding to inquiries from Idaho citizens regarding complaints and information requests, and conducting examinations of state licensed money service businesses and escrow companies.

    This position may require travel approximately 25- 35% of the time, both in and out of state, to attend training conferences and conduct examinations of money service businesses and escrow companies.


    Example of Duties :

    Examines, investigates, and/or registers/licenses money service businesses and escrow companies for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

    Provides regulatory oversight of entities and individuals engaging in industries overseen by the Securities Bureau, such as money service businesses and independent escrow companies.

    Conducts regulatory examinations/investigations and interprets/reviews financial data and documents. Researches, interprets, and resolves regulatory, legal, and Departmental policies, inquiries, and issues. Provides educational outreach for industry participants and the general public regarding personal finance and state/federal [JB1] laws and regulations. Prepares concise and comprehensive examination/investigative reports and negotiates administrative/enforcement actions with regulated entities for supervisor review.
