    Job Overview

    The Frontline Team Member fosters a safe, respectful environment by providing exceptional hospitality and support to individuals experiencing homelessness. This role plays a vital part in instilling hope for personal change and connecting guests with necessary resources.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide overwhelming biblical hospitality and respect to all guests.
    • Offer spiritual comfort through listening, prayer, and guidance as opportunities arise.
    • Check-in evening guests, assign beds, and distribute essential items.
    • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and volunteers.
    • Ensure accurate documentation for efficient service delivery and ministry purposes.
    • Supervise, train, and coach volunteers as assigned.
    • Represent KARM professionally to guests, donors, and partner agencies.
    • Cultivate a caring Christian lifestyle among guests, colleagues, and donors.
    • Establish a sense of safety and hope with residents, volunteers, interns, and employees.
    • Lead with empathy and understanding regarding mental illness, addiction, abuse, and poverty issues.
    • Perform administrative tasks as needed.

    Requirements

    • Possess the ability to share the Gospel and demonstrate Christian values when interacting with others.
    • Show compassion, set limits, and exercise mature judgment in service situations.
    • Understand and communicate effectively with guests affected by mental illness, addiction, abuse, and poverty.
    • Safely defuse tense situations and de-escalate potentially harmful situations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other office equipment.
    • Able to give direction and demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness.
    • CPR and Basic First Aid certification desired.
    • Associate's degree or equivalent education and experience required.
    • 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
    • Basic organizational and follow-up skills necessary.

    Working Conditions

    • Ministry campus facility where emergency services are provided.
    • Exposure to stressful client situations requiring compassion and discernment.
    • Walking, standing, sitting, bending, and minimal lifting required.
    • Attendance at meetings and occasional special events.
