    The Division of Epidemiology's Evo-Epidemiology Laboratory is in search of a Research Assistant/Analyst to join our team.

    The ideal candidate will have interest and/or experience in a wide variety of topics including epidemiology, public health, statistics, and mathematical modeling.

    The Research Assistant/Analyst will have the opportunity to help with a variety of research projects.

    They will conduct field work in and around Washington County, including soil sampling and the collection of detailed metadata for our ongoing projects on Valley fever emergence.

    Essential Functions


    • Conducts field work, including driving to field sites, wearing appropriate PPE, collecting soil and other samples, collecting metadata, recording all data. Field work may also include transporting samples to the University of Utah or shipping samples to the University of Utah.
    • Data entry.
    • May do data analysis.
    • May work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data.

    Minimum Qualifications


    One year research experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated organizational and communication skills; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.

    An understanding of research protocols and procedures preferred.

    Preferences

    Access to a car and driver's license.
