- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Material science, Civil Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering)
- Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0/4.0 (no rounding) at current institution
- Programming skills (C, Python)
- Must be willing to travel and relocate domestically.
- Proficient in ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Simlab, or other commercial FE software packages
- Experienced on static stress analysis, heat transfer, nonlinear material and large deformation, contact/impact, dynamics, and thermal mechanical FEA analysis using ABAQUS or ANSYS
- Experience on surrogate model based on reduced order modeling or machine learning/deep learning techniques in the context of finite element analysis
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, etc.)
- Knowledge of robust design and optimization
- Background and interest in physics-based analysis of systems and components
- Knowledge & experience in Machine Learning
- Ability to write efficient, well-documented code in Python
- Experience with the operation, design, and/or testing of heavy machinery equipment Excellent analytical skills

This includes providing a primary responsibility for developing power system analysis processes and tools in specific areas related to power system durability and performance.
