    ITAC Solutions is helping a great client in Birmingham, AL. in their search for an Environmental Engineer Project Manager. As a Project Manager for Environmental Systems, you will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of various projects related to our organization's facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and environmental engineering, project management, and a commitment to excellence in project execution.

    What you'll be doing (duties of this position):

    • Develop, implement, and manage civil and infrastructure projects from inception to completion, including conceptual development, engineering design, construction administration, and project close-out documentation delivery.
    • Prepare preliminary, engineering, and detailed cost estimates for projects. Develop project budgets, track project expenditures, and forecast future costs to ensure alignment with budgets.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, varying in scope from small to large, and prioritize based on available funding and risk assessment.
    • Manage pipe condition assessment projects to maintain system integrity.
    • Provide engineering support during emergencies, such as main breaks, inclement weather, and drought.
    • Participate in master planning efforts for existing systems and new acquisitions. Prepare bid documents and coordinate procurement activities with the Purchasing department.
    • Prepare short-term and long-term capital improvement plans and system valuations for new acquisitions.
    • Communicate regularly through written reports and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist the Chief Engineer with the organization's capital program management and delivery.
    • Facilitate constructability reviews for projects designed internally or externally.
    • Collaborate with the Operations group to meet operational, compliance, and health & safety goals.
    • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer to align capital project planning with the medium and long-term needs of the operations.
    • Manage the design and construction of small and large projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
    • Develop and submit reports to regulators and internal or external customers as required.
    • Apply for permits through city, county, state, and regulatory agencies and perform site inspections.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and health standards and guidelines issued by management.
    What you'll need to be considered (requirements):
    • Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering or related field.
    • Eight (8) years of engineering, project management, and construction experience.
    • Valid Driver's License and FE License required.
    • Project Manager and Team Lead experience.
    • Proficiency in project budget management and civil construction.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Water System Hydraulic Modeling knowledge preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Qualified Credentialed inspector (QCI) certification preferred
