- Lead and/or support diverse sponsor-directed work projects as an Economic Security Specialist and support MITRE-led applied research and development efforts aimed to advanced broad analytic capabilities and transformative capabilities for the economic security policy community
- Supporting proactive outreach to sponsors as an economic security specialist, focusing on developing new and novel work on research, analytics, and capability development
- Be able to operate with and interact with a diverse set of government sponsors and MITRE teams, applying experiences in government, the interagency, policy, or international efforts to define, track, and advance impactful analytic tools and transformative capabilities
- Coordinate pro-actively with other work programs across MITRE in support of collaborative interagency efforts
- Represent perspectives, authorities, responsibilities, and experiences of U.S
- Identify key applied research areas and challenges at TEC and across sponsors to contribute key insights and foster partner and collaboration opportunities across the FFRDC, MITRE, academia, private sector, and with the U.S
- Work with MITRE project and division leadership and identify the skills and competencies to further shape and align both current and future MITRE workforce and work programs Basic Qualifications: • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
- Documented success in applying one or more of the following capabilities or skills in collaborative and complex environments:
- Demonstrated ability to create an engagement plan or strategy/approach on a complex sponsor topic or issue, including understanding and identifying the priority or desired outcomes, challenges, and resources, and developing collaborative action plans toward achieving desired outcome(s)
- Project and Program Management
- Data-driven evidence building in informing policy analysis and decision making
- Demonstrated expertise in illicit finance and sanctions, to include AML/CFT regulations
- Familiarity with global trade and economic analysis
- Knowledge of international finance and payment systems
- Knowledge of Digital Assets
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across a large, complex organization
- Ability to secure one or more Treasury Suitability clearances and up to and including TS/SCI
- Familiarity with the financial intelligence enterprises
- Information Systems/Cybersecurity or system security in large complex systems
- Business Process or Systems Engineering / Improvement / Modeling
- Economic Modeling and/or Economic and Financial Analytics
- Business or Business Process Innovation and Transformation

Department Summary:
MITRE's Treasury, Economics and Commerce (TEC) Division, within the Center for Government Enterprise Modernization (Treasury's FFRDC operated by MITRE), supports multiple U.S government agencies in their missions to advance U.

Our varied work programs draw on many technical disciplines, such as systems engineering, data science, economic modeling, cost and acquisitions management, and strategic program management, among others

Roles and Responsibilities:
TEC's P813 Department, primarily supporting the U.S
Department of Treasury and its Bureaus and Offices, is seeking a highly-motivated Economic Statecraft Specialist - to serve as a member of the TEC team, to work across TEC, to work across the MITRE enterprise and with other FFRDCs operated by MITRE to support diverse sponsor-directed projects and MITRE-led applied research and development efforts aimed to advanced broad analytic capabilities and transformative capabilities for the economic security policy community
Demonstrated experience in government, working across and leading multiple stakeholders, experience in formulating and executing policy - domestic or international or both, in at least three policy domains, including but not limited to illicit finance and sanctions, strategic economic competition, supply chains, market influence or manipulation, international trade, complex beneficial ownership structures used by illicit actors, novel financial systems such as digital assets/DeFi, cyber threats and critical financial infrastructure, advanced digital assets/DeFi services or other associated key areas where economic tools by countries or adversaries/competitors are aimed to advance and influence foreign policy and economic priorities
Day to Day Responsibilities:
The Economic Security Specialist will provide insightful leadership and problem solving for the U.S
Department of Treasury and its partners in collaboration with stakeholders across MITRE, the private sector, academia, and federal, state, and local sectors
Specific responsibilities will include:
Degree in Illicit Finance or Sanctions, Financial Markets, Engineering, Business, Economics, Information Systems, International Affairs/Policy, Cybersecurity, Management, or related disciplines to the missions and support missions of the U.
