    Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:


    Pharmacists are to provide pharmacy services such as filling prescriptions, compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals, counseling patients as well as medical practitioners regarding medicines.

    Pharmacists are responsible to ensure safe, proper, and cost-effective usage of medicines.


    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepares and dispenses the prescribed medicines to medical practitioners or patients.
    • Counsels heath care providers or patients regarding drug interactions, indications, drug dosage and side effects.
    • Makes proper decisions concerned to generic and therapeutic substitution of medicines that are prescribed.
    • Provides information or knowledge on other drugs or pharmaceuticals as appropriate.
    • Provides training and guidance to pharmacy support personnel throughout course of their work and monitoring their performance.
    • Manages the acquisition and disbursal of medicines to various clinics, offices and other sites.
    • Establishes and maintains methods and style of storage and record maintaining systems for providing safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
    • Supports Variety Care's accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home and our commitment to provide care to all Variety patients that is Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable. Provide leadership and work with all staff to achieve the goals of the "Triple Aim" of healthcare reform-to improve the experience of care, improve health outcomes, and decrease healthcare costs.

    Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge:


    • Pharm. D. / Doctor of Pharmacy.
    • Must be licensed and in good standing with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
    • Strong commitment to customer service and willing to provide some clinical services.
    • Experience in ComputerRx system.
    • Knowledge of related certification and accreditation requirements.
    • Experience training and supervising assigned staff.
    • Experience maintaining quality, infection or safety control standards.
    • Experience working with multiple demands.
    Preferred

    Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge:


    • Retail pharmacy experience preferred.

    ADA Requirements:

    • Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
    • Able to walk, bend, lift, and remain on feet for extended periods of time.
