Job Description

· Participates in On-Call rotation as required.

· Troubleshoots and resolves network related problems reported by end-users, internal Help Desk and offsite NOC.

· Provisions switch ports, installs patch cables and maintains cable management standards.

· Has a basic knowledge of power and electrical systems as it relates to UPSs, PDUs, network device rack installation and low voltage cable ie: Ethernet / Fiber optic including related transceivers/SFP's.

· Shows attention to detail, accuracy in work, time management and organization.

· Ability to work independently also on a team to meet all day-to-day functions and deadlines.

· It is desirable that candidates for this position possess a working knowledge in the areas described.

Summary:

This role participates in configuration and troubleshooting of Voice and Data connected endpoints all while carrying out daily incident management for staff, projects, and break fix requests. The Network Technician provides operational support for the following: IDF closets, routers, switches, power equipment, analog / IP phones, LAN / WAN, and ISP provided services.

Additional responsibilities include traveling to nearby offsite locations, assisting in project deployments, maintaining inventory, and performing maintenance requests. This position requires great communication skills and professionalism, as it is very customer facing

Skills and Requirements

· 2+ years experience working with network infrastructure: routing & switching, network gear

· Experience with Cisco CLI (Command-Line Interface) - the ability to access switches/routers, make configuration changes, troubleshoot, activating and describing ports etc.

· Experience supporting Cisco Call Manager and working with IP based phones

· High School Diploma · Experience with Microsoft Suites, Service Now

· Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCT), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+ - even just training for it - some knowledge null
