    Radiologic Technologist, Lawrence General Hospital *#

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Performs all routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures; demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices, according to department policy and procedure.

    Receives consultation request, checking for special instructions from the requesting Physician consults with the radiologist as necessary.

    Greets patients pleasantly, confirming their identification by using two identifiers, (name and date of birth), and introducing yourself Explains examination procedure completely to the patient, and their family if present.

    Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, carrier, and radiographic tables.

    Evaluates every image before sending to PACS for technical quality, proper patient positioning, correct identification stamp, and right and left markers, with no omissions annually.

    Updates patient exam file; records unusual conditions or limitations documents film usage. Confirms proper billing information 100% of the time. Performs other paperwork as applicable. Assists with the administration of contrast media when necessary, always practicing aseptic technique. Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, eliminating outdated items. Telephones results when requested, with no more than one omission annually. Promotes a professional image by adhering to the established dress code.
