    HITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated IT Operations Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Hagerstown, MD.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Provide day-to-day helpdesk service for HRSTS users located in Americas region with focus on Hagerstown.
    • Carry out installation, configurations and maintenance on servers, network equipment, desktop hardware, software, laptops, mobile devices, video conf equipment and printers.
    • Troubleshoot connectivity and application issues and research and escalate as appropriate.
    • Maintain server rooms and all corporate IT supporting equipment including safe keeping, upgrades, repairs, maintenance, replacements, etc.
    • Undertake any other relevant duties as directed by the IT Services Manager – Americas.
    • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that a professional manner is maintained with customers at all times.
    • Develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external contacts as appropriate.
    • Work is conducted efficiently and effectively, complies with internal global policies and standardization requirements.
    • Participate in the implementation of IT Projects as per agreed budget, time and quality.

    SKILLS

    • Previous experience in Corporate Office setting.
    • Proven working experience in providing EUC support.
    • Knowledge of ITIL best practices.
    • Strong knowledge of current technologies.
    • Microsoft Operating Systems, ESX, and server-side applications.
    • Troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
    • Organized, detail oriented, superb customer service skills.
    • Able to learn new technology and have increasing responsibilities.
    • A solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and telephony.
    • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
    • Solve complex technical issues/problems involving multiple technology stacks (OS, application, network, etc.)
    • Advanced Microsoft Operating System and application support (Active Directory, Exchange, DFS, DNS, DHCP, permissions, access levels, server roles).
    • Experience with S2S IP SEC VPN, SSL VPN, VLANS, MPLS, and SIP Trunk technologies.
    • Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Experience with enterprise wireless technologies.
