    Description

    Performs epidemiological investigation activities related to analyzing and interpreting illness data collected as part of a bioterrorism surveillancepublic health emergency team.

    Assists with the development, maintenance and analysis of a standard data collection system.

    Performs statistical analyses of health data, to include descriptive analysis, univariate analysis, trend analysis, multiple logistic regression and survival analysis, and reviews data results and reports for completeness and accuracy.

    Secures and analyzes data concerning specific causes of morbidity and mortality prepares literature, graphs, and demonstrations concerning epidemiology disease control and compiles and maintains related reports.

    Facilitates the collection of data with healthcare providers, municipal health departments and hospitals in the county.

    Investigates the origin of infectious diseases, establishes control procedures and provides epidemiological direction to a local program of case-finding and follow-up work.

    Performs other duties as assigned.


    Education, Experience and Training:


    Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, or in a job related field of study.

    Two (2) years of work related experience.


    Special Requirements:
    Skilled in the use of standard software applications.

    Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.

    Requires knowledge of principles, practices, current developments and techniques related to epidemiology, public health and disease outbreak investigations. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history.

    Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.


    Physical/Environmental Requirements:
    Standard office Environment.
