    DUTIES:

    Apply new and repair existing built-up roofs and single-ply roofing systems Install protective roof coveringsCover roofs and exterior walls with roofing and waterproofing materials such as sheet metal, composition shingles or sheets, wood shingles, asphalt and gravel, and/or related materials, using brushes, knives, punches, hammers, and other toolsCut roofing material to size using a knife.

    Fasten composition shingles or sheets to roof with asphalt, cement or nails. Punch holes in slate, tile, terra cotta, or wooden shingles using punch and hammer.

    Cut strips of flashing and fit into the angles formed by walls, vents and intersecting roof surfacesInstall sheet metal (prefabricated) such as wall capping and counter flashing.

    Perform preventative roof maintenance by painting, sheathing, cleaning, scraping, and caulkingPerform minor carpentry repairs to roof decks and structuresInvestigate causes of leaks and sources of water infiltration.

    Inspect problem roofs to determine the best procedure for repair.

    Create and execute repairs on built-up roofs, single-ply roof systems, and associated flashingsRepair masonry brickwork, parapet walls, gutter lines, chimneys, and window caulkingClean debris and snow from roofs, gutters, and downspouts.

    Clean and maintain equipment and storage spacesSecure area to ensure safety while work is in-progress and through completion.


    Follow safe work practicesRemove snow, water, or debris from roofs as directed and prior to applying roofing materialsErects ladders and scaffolding to provide safe access to roof and work areas or assists in erecting hoist on firewall of buildings to raise materialsPerform all other duties as assignedRequired SkillsQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5-7 years current Commercial Roofing experience Osha-10 certifiedHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.

    equivalentDemonstrated mathematical abilityAbility to read, write and understand EnglishAbility to comprehend, construct, and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and shop drawings for the task being doneAbility to lift 50 pounds, climb and work from ladders and aerial lifts with no height limitationsValid MA drivers license and the use of an automobilePREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
