    Position Summary and Responsibilities
    Vassar College seeks applicants for a Science Support Technician to provide support to the academic science laboratories. This position is full-time for the full-year.

    Responsibilities:
    • Support the technical operation and maintenance of research and teaching equipment in the science labs.
    • Design and build new equipment, meeting objectives set by Faculty, in support of new laboratory coursework.
    • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing laboratory equipment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications
    • Associate's degree in a related field (e.g. Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Technology, etc.) with 3 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Knowledge of the principles of applied electronics and ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment as well as repair and assemble electronic circuits.
    • Experience in the maintenance, calibration, and use of the tools, equipment, and materials utilized in electronic labs.
    • Must be able to maintain a problem-solving demeanor during stressful situations and be able to multi-task and effectively manage deadlines.
    • Must be able to work well with faculty and students.
    • Experience with mathematical computations and construction of complex electronic instruments and circuits from sketches, diagrams, or plans preferred.
