    Insight Global is seeking a Sr Controls Engineer to join one of our large aerospace clients in Charleston SC. This position will backfill a member on the team who recently retired from the organization.

    You'll be a part of the Equipment and Reliability Engineering team supporting the 787 program by ensuring production of midbody assembly equipment is reliable throughout the equipment life cycle.

    This role will be 100% on-site in North Charleston and working normal business hours. Relocation candidates are encouraged to apply Candidates must be willing to work off hours for any emergencies. Any OT will be paid and work hours will be flexible if you are called in during off hours.


    Day to Day:

    • Participate in weekly meetings between production teamsyour role will be to present on data pulled from the equipment and share what preventative measures will be taken to address any issues shown in the data
    • Hands on position, working directly on the production floor next to the machines
    • Prioritizing emergent events as they come in to minimize downtime
    • Direct planning and developing preventative maintenance plans, improvement projects and cross functional projects involving PMs, Maintenance and Operations teams
    • Provide end user support (aka Operation team) that is using the equipment for mid body assembly
    • Service as a technical custodian over the equipment
    • Maintain team target of 90% uptime
    • Analyze and use RCA techniques to understand why machines are not hitting their target and create a plan of action on a weekly basis

    work with vendors, check acceptance criteria, make sure vendors are meeting Boeing Standards, identify if need to place parts orders

    . Required Skills & Experience-9+ years of experience as an Engineer in a production/manufacturing environment o Working in automation and controls i.e., controls engineer, electrical controls engineer, automation controls engineer
    • ABET accredited (Washington Accord) Bachelor's degree in Engineering field o Degree must have Engineering in the title Heavy hands on programming experience with PLCs automation and controls o They need to have done hands on programming in the past so they can step in when needed for troubleshootingdo not need to have programmed from scratch.
    They will be more so directing the programming in this role but might need to be hands on from time to time.
