    Overview

    Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health seeks a dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine Physician to join our team. As a full-time physician, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a unique practice serving patients with chronic medical conditions.

    Our holistic approach to patient care focuses on promoting well-being and provider satisfaction. You will enjoy a Monday through Friday schedule, dayshift only, with minimal call.

    Job Summary

    This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong concentration skills and the ability to think critically. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing ambulatory, home, and inpatient care to patients. You will work closely with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers as part of a team-based care model.

    The ideal candidate will be a Board Eligible or Board Certified Family Medicine Physician with a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain relationships that facilitate task accomplishment and resolve conflicts.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide ambulatory, home, and inpatient care to patients
    • Attend to patients enrolled in the program in the hospital on a daily basis in a consultative fashion
    • Take after-hours call in rotation with other medical staff to provide 24/7 coverage for patients via phone
    • Team based care with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other health care providers
    • Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment
    • Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition
    • Monitors lab results, medication adherence and medication toxicities
    • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccinations, and other medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
    • Explain and discuss procedures, test results, or prescribed treatment with the patient
    • Refers patients to medical specialists when necessary

    Qualifications

    • A Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
    • Completion of Internal Medicine Residency or Family Medicine Residency
    • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal/Family Medicine
    • Current medical licensure issued by PA State Board of Medicine or the PA State Board of Osteopathic Medicine
    • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs

    Salary and Benefits

    The estimated salary for this position is $200,000-$250,000 per year, depending on experience.
