    Are you someone with a passion for taking on big challenges? Are you interested in owning large-scale, highly distributed systems and building new products from scratch? If so, then Virtual Networking in Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) has a great opportunity.

    This role is to manage the DNS organization. DNS is a Tier 0 service.

    DNS is the lowest level infrastructure building block that all OCI services (including Oracle SaaS) and customers heavily depends on.

    DNS service stability, reliability and feature richness is critical for the success of OCI.

    We're looking for strong leaders with background in distributed systems, networking and passion towards customer satisfaction to help build and maintain cloud scale services.

    You are expected to play a critical role towards the growth of the overall virtual networking portfolio.
    Responsibilities

    As a Senior Director, you will apply your experience and technical depth in creating long lasting strategic direction to build innovative products/features to meet customer needs and to improve the stability and operability of the services.

    You will use your organizational excellence and leadership skills to influence the prioritization and decision making for the DNS space and across the broader networking org to successfully deliver business value.

    You will be responsible for recruiting and hiring top talent to grow the team to meet an ambitious charter.
    As a leader of portfolio of services, you will:
    Define service(s) strategy and roadmap by partnering with the product management.
    Represent your organization at the VP and SVP level.
    Use the experience and expertise to operate large scale software fleets to ensure the services meet the OCI scale.

    Collaborate with your team, peers, various organizations, and senior leadership to identify product and customer requirements, coordinate delivery, and integrate solutions to meet the business needs.

    Recruit and continue to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team who can deliver complex projects on time.
    Your ability to influence other teams is a key to your success in this role.

    Qualifications:
    7+ years experience in managing large-scale organizations, preferably with multiple layers of management.
    10+ years of designing, delivering, and operating large scale distributed systems in production environments.
    Demonstrable success mentoring and growing engineers and people managers to senior levels.
    Prior experience in owning and managing SaaS/IaaS services
    Strong knowledge of networking, distributed systems and high-performance computing fundamentals.
    Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

    US:

    Hiring Range:
    from $142,900 to $338,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

    Paid time off:
    Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.

    For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.

    Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

    Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
