    POSITION TITLE:

    SERVER

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Responsible for serving food and beverages to residents and guests. Ensure their needs are being met while providing a pleasant customer service approach. Keep dining areas clean and sanitary according to local, state and company guidelines.

    REPORTS TO:

    ADMINISTRATOR OR DESIGNEE

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality and a home-like environment for Resident. Knowledge of Resident Rights.
    2. Accept food orders, communicate to kitchen staff and deliver food and beverages to residents and/or guests in a timely manner in accordance with company policies, procedures and standards. Serve meals according to residents individualized dietary needs.
    3. Ensure resident and guest satisfaction by responding quickly to needs and requests.
    4. Reads the staff communication records and maintains familiarity with Resident records as required.
    5. Assists with orientation of new staff to job responsibilities.
    6. Actively buss tables and re-set tables.
    7. Collaborates with other dietary staff to ensure tray service is efficient, timely and accurate
    8. Ensures waste is disposed of properly, and minimizes waste.
    9. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
    10. Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff and visitors. Report any issues to supervisor.
    11. Follows standard precautions, proper handwashing, personal hygiene and proper sanitization of dishware and dining areas is utilized.
    12. Observes changes in Resident status, needs or preferences and communicates them appropriately.
    13. Observes other problems and communicates them appropriately.
    14. Observes all work, safety and administrative rules.
    15. Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
    16. Records Resident information as required.
    17. Avoids loss, breakage and waste of supplies and equipment.
    18. Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety and other emergency situations.
    19. Complete assigned job duties and check out with manager at end of shift.
    20. Use appropriate cleaning chemicals, knowledge of SDS data and location
    21. Performs other duties as assigned.

    EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services.
    2. Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.
    3. Keeps all information confidential.
    4. Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows work schedule.
    5. Displays cleanliness, good grooming, personal appearance and follows dress requirements consistently.
    6. Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks; requires minimal supervision.
    7. Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action.
    8. Displays ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others.
    9. Interacts in professional manner with Residents, public and co-workers. Works cooperatively with management. Displays willingness to assist co-workers when situation requires.
    10. Ability to do occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), 30 lbs. regularly.
    11. Adequate and clear English speaking and writing ability; able to communicate effectively.
    12. Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly, can tolerate extreme heat and cold temperatures.
    13. Is free of non-treated communicable disease.
    14. First Aid Certified.
    15. Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
    16. Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures.
    17. Is neat, accurate, dependable and keeps work/space clean.
    18. Ability/willingness to work longer than eight (8) hour shift, to work holidays or overtime, to work seven (7) day schedule.

    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    One year experience in working with older adults preferred. Experience in food service preferred. First Aid certified. Obtain/hold any required local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certifications.
