Position: Mid Cybersecurity Analyst

Location: Fairfax, VA [Travel locally within the State of Virginia]

Citizenship: US Citizens or US Permanent Residents

Summary:

SPN Solutions Inc. seeks a dedicated Mid Cybersecurity Analyst with 3 years of experience, ideally within a government organization, to join our dynamic team. The candidate will have an opportunity to contribute and optimize cybersecurity processes, ensuring that data integrity, network services, and other critical factors are uncompromised. This role will also require specialized knowledge related to SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems in line with industry standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a cybersecurity analyst, preferably in a government organization.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficient in a variety of cybersecurity tools and solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Threat and Vulnerability Management:

Continuous monitoring of systems for vulnerabilities.
Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses.
Evaluate, test, and implement appropriate countermeasures to threats.
Report on vulnerability findings and recommend mitigation or remediation strategies.

Incident Response:

Participate in cybersecurity incident response teams.
Investigate, document, and report on information security issues and emerging trends.
Coordinate with other IT teams for resolution of incidents.

SPN's Comprehensive Incident Response, DR Planning, and Cyber Security Assessment:

Assist in the deployment of an incident response framework in line with NIST RMF guidelines.
Support the identification and resolution of irregularities using tools such as ConnectWise SIEM and SentinelOne EDR.
Collaborate in the creation and modification of disaster recovery plans, participating in regular reviews.
Aid in the classification and protection of client's digital assets, utilizing RMF's recommendations.
Participate in ongoing monitoring of security systems to guarantee consistent reliability and compliance.

Security Analysis:

Review system logs, network traffic, and other security-relevant data.
Analyze security breaches to determine root cause.
Provide recommendations for system hardening and security best practices.

SCADA Environment Responsibility:

Monitor and secure SCADA and industrial control systems.
Understand and mitigate threats unique to SCADA.
Ensure industry standard practices related to SCADA cybersecurity are employed.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure SCADA system design and implementation.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry cybersecurity standards and regulations.
Assist in the preparation of security documentation for internal use and for clients.
Conduct regular audits to ensure security measures are effective.

Training and Knowledge Transfer:

Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest cyber threats, technologies, regulations, and best practices.
Share insights and learning with the cybersecurity team.

Infrastructure and Network Security:

Work with IT teams to ensure the secure design, development, and deployment of internal infrastructures.
Regularly review firewall rules, access controls, and other network security measures.
Assist in the maintenance and enforcement of a robust access control policy.

Tools and Solutions:

Research, recommend, and implement cybersecurity tools and solutions.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity tools and solutions suitable for organization size and requirements.
