LPNTITLE:
School Licensed Practical Nurse


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing and hold an Idaho license in good standing as a licensed practical nurse.
• Have a minimum of two years experience as a licensed practical nurse with at least one-year experience working with a pediatric population.
• Have good communication, organizational skills, and word processing skills and have basic knowledge of computer operations.
• Demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other school staff.
• Be physically able to perform assigned activities.
• Be CPR and first aid certified or attains such certification within 30 days of date of hire.
• Have or attain any additional skills or certification that the board may find appropriate and acceptable

JOB GOALS:

• To support the delivery of Garden Valley School District 71's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test.
• To support the delivery of nursing services to students according to accepted nursing practice and perform other appropriate job duties as assigned.

Appropriately manage health conditions holistically to enhance optimal learning conditions, removing possible obstacles, and contributing to student success.

Utilize technology, such as video conferencing, telehealth, shared electronic medical record keeping, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for enhanced student success and safety.

Engage with professional learning communities and working partners to further their education and gain an understanding of the communities they serve.

Demonstrate evidence of impact through common data collection and analysis.

Offer services within schools including preventative health and wellness, screenings, medication administration, first aid and emergency care, and community health fairs.

Education required

Have a minimum of two years experience as a licensed practical nurse with at least one-year experience working with a pediatric population.

Skills required

Be CPR and first aid certified or attains such certification within 30 days of date of hire.

Benefits

This is a part-time position scheduled for 4 hours per day during the school year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule depending on experience.
