- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education from the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience working with students with special needs and their families is highly preferred.
- Must meet all requirements set by local and state regulations.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, tailored to their unique strengths and challenges.
- Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings, using teaching strategies that meet their diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that students with special needs receive appropriate accommodations and support services in the classroom.
- Assess students' progress regularly using a variety of assessment tools and techniques, and adjust instruction and interventions accordingly.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to provide updates on students' progress and address any concerns or challenges that arise.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices and research in the field of special education.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines governing the education of students with disabilities.
