    Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

    We are actively seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for a part-time contract position in Westwood, Massachusetts. This role is for the summer program within a school-based setting. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about working with students with special needs and supporting their educational journey.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
    • Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education from the state of Massachusetts.
    • Experience working with students with special needs and their families is highly preferred.
    • Must meet all requirements set by local and state regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, tailored to their unique strengths and challenges.
    • Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings, using teaching strategies that meet their diverse learning needs.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that students with special needs receive appropriate accommodations and support services in the classroom.
    • Assess students' progress regularly using a variety of assessment tools and techniques, and adjust instruction and interventions accordingly.
    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to provide updates on students' progress and address any concerns or challenges that arise.
    • Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices and research in the field of special education.
    • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines governing the education of students with disabilities.
