    Description

    Role: Provide Diligent oversight and assistance with agency required Medication Administration and Diabetes/Insulin training while preparing staff to be competent and successful in their assigned roles.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee, administer and coordinate training curriculum per agency policy for all relevant programmatic staff specifically regarding Medication Administration and Diabetes/Insulin training.
    • Any other duties as assigned relative to the nature and scope of the position.

    Expectations:

    • Must be comfortable presenting clear instructions to groups or individuals while providing quality training for employees.
    • Understand and support the mission statement of Disability Supports as evidenced by an unfailing positive attitude in all actions on behalf of persons served.
    • Ability to adapt to the learning styles of the audience to be trained.
    • Prompt, consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
    • Timeliness in completion of assigned tasks and necessary training.
    Qualifications

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Experience: At least 1 year of prior experience with adults with developmental disabilities preferred. Healthcare field experience including proper application of administering medication required.

    Education: Registered Nurse professional or Licensed Practical Nurse with commensurate practical experience in workforce training and education required.

    Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Decision making skills necessary to ensure the overall safety of the persons served, while maintaining the integrity of the training program. Must demonstrate compassion for individuals with disabilities.

    Other Skills: Basic mathematical and intermediate computer skills required. Knowledge of internal electronic filing system and Microsoft Office software as well as significant overall technological proficiency required.

    Physical/Environmental: Ability to lift 35 pounds. Moderate noise such as would be found in a business office with computers, printers and light traffic. Travel between agency facilities required.
